Overview

Oncologic Precision. Aesthetic Excellence.

Skin cancer removal requires not only complete excision of the tumor but also thoughtful reconstruction of the resulting defect. As a board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Win Pound brings both oncologic precision and aesthetic expertise to every skin cancer case — ensuring the cancer is fully removed while minimizing scarring and preserving the natural appearance of the treated area.

Dr. Pound treats basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma. He performs the complete excision himself, or works in close coordination with dermatologists and Mohs surgeons — providing seamless reconstruction after Mohs surgery or wide local excision. Whether the closure requires a simple linear repair, a local flap, or a skin graft, the goal is always the most natural, aesthetically pleasing result possible. Skin cancer removal and reconstruction is covered by Medicare and most major insurance plans, and Dr. Pound is in-network with Medicare and most insurers. Procedures are performed under local anesthesia in the office or as outpatient surgery at Northside Hospital Atlanta, Northside Cherokee, and Union General Hospital, depending on the complexity of the case.

Reconstruction is tailored to the size, location, and depth of the defect, as well as the patient's skin type and overall health. Areas of particular complexity — the nose, eyelids, ears, lips, and scalp — are among Dr. Pound's areas of expertise.
