Overview

Fuller, More Balanced Breasts — Your Way

Breast augmentation is one of the most commonly performed plastic surgery procedures in the United States — and for good reason. Whether you want to restore volume lost after pregnancy or weight loss, correct asymmetry, or simply achieve a fuller, more proportionate figure, breast augmentation can deliver transformative, natural-looking results.

Dr. Win Pound offers both saline and silicone gel implants, and works with each patient to select the implant type, size, shape, and placement that best suits her unique anatomy, lifestyle, and aesthetic goals. Every augmentation is customized — there is no one-size-fits-all approach.

Dr. Pound is also the world's leading expert in the TUBA (Trans-Umbilical Breast Augmentation) technique — a scar-free approach in which saline implants are placed through a tiny incision hidden inside the belly button, leaving absolutely no scars on the breast.

Implant Options

Saline vs. Silicone Gel Implants

Saline Implants

Filled with sterile salt water after placement, saline implants allow for smaller incisions and easy size adjustment during surgery. They are FDA-approved for patients 18 and older. If a saline implant ruptures, the body safely absorbs the saline. Dr. Pound's TUBA technique uses saline implants exclusively.

Compatible with the scar-free TUBA technique
Smaller incision required
Easy intraoperative size fine-tuning
Safe, natural absorption if rupture occurs

Silicone Gel Implants

Pre-filled with a cohesive silicone gel, these implants closely mimic the feel of natural breast tissue and are the most popular choice among patients today. They are FDA-approved for patients 22 and older. Silicone implants are placed through an inframammary (under-breast) or periareolar (around the nipple) incision.

Most natural look and feel
Wide range of sizes, profiles, and shapes
Cohesive gel maintains shape if shell is compromised
Ideal for patients with less natural breast tissue

TUBA (Trans-Umbilical)

Dr. Pound's signature scar-free technique. Saline implants are placed through a tiny incision hidden inside the belly button — no scars on the breast whatsoever.

Option 2

Inframammary

An incision placed in the natural fold beneath the breast. Offers excellent visibility and control, and the scar is hidden in the crease. Compatible with both saline and silicone implants.

Option 3

Periareolar

An incision placed along the lower edge of the areola. The scar blends with the natural color transition of the areola. Compatible with both saline and silicone implants.

Candidacy

Are You a Candidate?

Ideal candidates are women in good general health who are bothered by the size, shape, or symmetry of their breasts and have realistic expectations. Patients should be at a stable weight and, if planning future pregnancies, should understand that pregnancy and nursing may affect results. Dr. Pound will evaluate your anatomy, discuss your goals, and recommend the implant type, size, and approach that is right for you.
